City Tour (E-Bikes)

Costa Rica’s southernmost port town set on the Golfo Dulce.

Costa Rica’s southernmost port town set on the Golfo Dulce, the laidback town of Golfito is a gateway to glorious beaches, to some of Costa Rica’s best surfing in the nearby Pavones and, most importantly, to the huge tracts of pristine nature that surround it. The town boomed in the early 20th century as the United Fruit Company’s port for exporting bananas – today, life is much quieter and easy-going. That’s not to say there isn’t a whole wealth of interest to discover here, and you can do just that on this fun city tour.

Hop on your bike at the marina and head into town, stopping at the UCR Centro Club and exploring the Zona Americana, a shopping mall where you can pick up duty free products. Pedal past the old banana plantation locomotive, the old gate of the Banco Nacional and pause at the main dock and football stadium. Then it’s on to Parque del Bella Vista, where you’re likely to see some of Golfito’s older residents playing games like dominoes in the afternoon sun, and the Golfito Civil Park. The tour ends at the iconic picnic site which, set high above the marina, has spectacular views across the water
