Jungle Hike (Piedras Blancas)
Part of the Osa Conservation area, Piedras Blancas protects a dense tract of lowland tropical rainforest and beaches on the shores of the Golfo Dulce. Offering a refuge to a huge amount of incredible wildlife, including the increasingly rare jaguar, as you explore this spectacular wilderness you’re likely to spot toucans, two-toed sloths, spider monkeys, bats, anteaters and scarlet macaws, to name just a few – it is also considered one of the country’s best bird watching spots.
This rainforest hike is perfect for active adventurers, challenging them to head deep into the mountainous wilds of this lesser-known national park. With a naturalist guide, you’ll follow trails through fragile ecosystems, learning all about them as you go, while keeping a constant eye out for the wonderful wildlife that calls the forest home. Cooling off in a pristine waterfall is the perfect end to this all-out adventure.
